2018 Media Exchange Programme

Starting in March and running to June, 16 broadcasters from six Pacific nations travelled to New Zealand to undertake a 2-week internship at a New Zealand broadcaster. Training covered all areas of media operations – presentation suite, video editing, camera work, field and crew work, news production, master control room, audio engineering and vision switching. This year marks Pacific Cooperation Broadcasting Limited’s second Media Exchange Programme.

Group 1 of PCBL’s 2018 Media Exchange Programme saw broadcasters from the Pacific placed at TVNZ for the Commonwealth Games. This event enabled the opportunity for our Pacific broadcasters to work together with the PasifikaTV team, TVNZ, and Sunpix to deliver an unprecedented “specifically Pacific” Commonwealth Games. The significance of this broadcast was that the majority of Pacific competitors could be seen in their home countries, as well as Pacific medal moments either live or in the highlights.
