Van2017, the Organising Committee of the Vanuatu 2017 Pacific Mini Games, partnered with Pacific Cooperation Broadcasting Limited (PCBL) to ensure all Pacific nations could watch the games live and on recorded broadcast. The games were held in Port Vila, Vanuatu from December 4th to 15th.
The partnership allowed many Pacific nations to view the games for the first time free of charge as the cost of accessing the broadcast signal has been prohibitive. This unprecedented access to the games was supported by the provision of equipment and technical training delivered by PCBL in February 2017. Almost 100 hours of content was broadcast on PasifikaTV across the 12 days.
CEO of Van2017, Clint Flood, said that the commitment meant that fans and families back home in the far-reaching areas of the Pacific were able to see and feel the excitement of the Games.
