Despite these uncertain times and according to the current status quo the Vienna Philharmonic is exceptionally delighted to be able to perform the New Year’s Concert 2021. Under the baton of Riccardo Muti in the Musikverein in Vienna , this year's concert will mark the 6th time that Riccardo Muti, whose close musical partnership with the Vienna Philharmonic has now extended nearly 50 years. With this concert it is not only the desire of the Vienna Philharmonic to provide musically definitive interpretations of the masterworks of this genre, but also, as musical ambassadors of Austria, to send people all over the world a New Year's greeting in the spirit of hope, friendship and peace.
