It took 36 hours from a boat ride from Finschafen, a drive up the highway to Goroka and onto the Prestigious Fashion runway, (New York Fashion Week) showcasing on the Valentines Night, 14th February 2026.❤️🔥
The journey back to New York for Florence started 10 years ago when her bilum weaving-style dress was shown on the runway at the LDNY Festival in New York’s UN building – refer 1st photo captured by Spencer Kohn/LDNY. 💥 Florence became known as the bilum meri, the bilum woman, she wanted to take bilum fashion to the world. 🌐
Last year at the annual Goroka Bilum Festival, the first ever Niyana Cowrie Collection was showcased, then at the Runway for Fiji Fashion Week in Sydney and the rest is history NEW YORK!!
