‘Beyond Sport, Hō’ē ā Mana’ unveiled ahead of Tahiti 2027 Pacific Games

On October 25, International Artists Day, the music video for the official Tahiti 2027 Pacific Games anthem, Beyond Sport, Hō’ē ā Mana, was unveiled to the public.

The film brings together athletes, artists and volunteers around a shared ambition: to tell the story of Tahiti 2027 through the people who will bring the Games to life.

The creative concept behind the video places the spotlight on the faces and talents that give life to this collective adventure.

Through a series of scenes, the project unfolds as a collective portrait, with everyone helping to convey the spirit, values and emotion of the Games.

Through close-up portraits, the music video places people at the heart of the Games, celebrating their stories, emotions and dreams.

The filming locations are equally meaningful, reflecting both the history of the Tahiti 2027 Pacific Games Organising Committee and the territory that will host this 18th edition.

Each location was chosen for the story it tells and the values it represents.

From Tatatua Beach, where artists perform alongside children, symbolising the transmission of knowledge and environmental values, to Atimaono, where music and traditional dance celebrate Polynesian culture, each scene reflects the identity of the Fenua.

At Pointe Vénus, the flags of the 24 participating nations embody the anthem’s central message: bringing the peoples of the Pacific together around a shared vision.

In Papeete, athletes, volunteers, workforce members and mascots Arava and To’atini celebrate the unity and diversity that define the Games.

The ocean and the traditional va’a further symbolise the enduring bonds connecting Pacific nations, while archival footage honours past generations and the legacy they have passed on to today’s youth.

Directed by South Fiction, the music video celebrates Tahiti 2027 as a collective journey rooted in culture, solidarity and shared heritage, bringing together the people of the Fenua and the wider Pacific to write the next chapter of the Games, 32 years after Tahiti last hosted them.

About the Pacific Games – Tahiti 2027

The Pacific Games are the region’s largest sporting event. Created in 1963 and held every four years, they bring together 24 Oceanian nations around sport and culture.

French Polynesia will host the 18th edition of the Pacific Games from July 24 to August 7, 2027, on the islands of Tahiti, Mo’orea, and Raʻiātea.

The event will bring together nearly 4,500 athletes competing in 356 events across 24 sports, and three parasports.

Selected events will serve as qualification competitions for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games as well as for World Championships.

Beyond the competition, Tahiti 2027 aims to be a grand celebration of Oceanian cultures and an ambitious regional project, promoting a lasting legacy for the territory, values of inclusion, eco-responsibility, and the promotion of local expertise, an exceptional showcase for French Polynesia across the region and internationally.
