It’s the final day of swimming at the Aquatic Centre. Will more nations create shock ripples in the pool, or will New Caledonia snatch the final few medals? The heats will take place from 9:30am to 10:30am and the finals start at 6:30pm. A Sport City day ticket ($30) or a pass is needed for entry.
It’s also the last day of weightlifting at Maranatha Hall, with final medals being won and awarded. The action begins at 8:30am. Tickets are $30.
At the National Stadium, rugby 7s continues with Fiji and Samoa dominating, but Solomon Islands could ruffle some feathers on Friday after both their men’s and women’s teams won on Thursday. Matches begin at 11am. A Sport City day ticket ($30) or a pass is needed for entry.
Over at SIFF Academy, karate enters its second and final day with medals aplenty. Tickets are also $30.
It’s the second last day of basketball at Friendship Hall, featuring women’s semifinals at 12pm (Samoa v Fiji) and 2:30pm (Cook Islands v Tahiti). The men’s semi-finals will follow – Guam v Samoa at 5pm, then Fiji v New Caledonia at 7.30pm. A Sport City day ticket ($30) or a pass is needed for entry.
It’s also the second last day at volleyball, where women’s and men’s semi-finals will electrify Friendship Hall from 5pm, with rankings matches taking place earlier. A Sport City day ticket ($30) or a pass is needed for entry.
Singles and mixed doubles events continue in tennis, while the women’s and men’s doubles willcommence. Play begins at 9am at the National Tennis Centre, where a Sport City day ticket ($30) or a pass is needed for entry.
For those keen to rise early and beat the heat, golf continues at Honiara Golf Club from at 7am. Entry is free.
It’s the final day of archery and athletes from Solomon Islands, Tonga, New Caledonia, Tahiti, Australia and New Zealand will be competing for medals. The action starts at 9am at DC Park and entry is free.
Near DC Park and also with free entry is sailing, where windsurfers and sailors have been enjoying the conditions all week. Events begin from 10am onwards.
At table tennis the mixed doubles will reach their conclusion, while the action continues in the singles and other doubles events ahead of Saturday’s finals. Play begins at 9am at HCC Arena, with free entry.
In women’s football, Tonga and Samoa will face off in their final pool match at 12pm at Lawson Tama, followed by Fiji v Solomon Islands at 3pm. In men’s football at SIFF Academy, Cook Islands face New Caledonia at 4pm followed by Northern Mariana Islands v Tahiti at 7pm. Entry is $30 for either venue.
