Following suit, New Caledonia displayed equal prowess against Fiji, securing a decisive 3-0 victory. Galu Maituku, the opposite setter for New Caledonia, expressed his joy, telling the Pacific Games News Service: “I am very happy about winning this game against Fiji. I hope our team will go to the finals”.

Tevita Lewetuitovo, the head coach for Fiji, recognised his team’s resilience, saying: “It’s a good game for my team. Despite our young composition, we’ve come this far. Our plan is to work even harder in preparation for the next Pacific Games in 2027”.

In a clash between Samoa and American Samoa, the Samoan team emerged victorious in straight sets. An excited Samoa captain Glen Young Yen said his team will now focus on the semi-finals.

The last quarter-final encounter saw PNG overpower Tonga in a one-sided contest, securing an overwhelming 3-0 victory. The winning teams from today’s matches will now advance to Friday’s semi-finals, promising fans more entertaining volleyball action at Friendship Hall from 5pm onwards.
