The Prime Minister Hon. Manasseh Sogavare MP has congratulated all the women in Solomon Islands’ for various achievements in the areas of social, economic, culture and politics.
Prime Minister Sogavare joined others in commemorating this year’s International Women’s Day.
The Prime Minister said women have played a crucial role in our society to ensure we have shared responsibility and shared ownership of our destiny as a country.
PM Sogavare said it elevates the profile of any country when women are given the space to be in the driving seat of development.
He said as the political head of the government he is proud to see women breaking the status quo and held positions once dominated by men.
The Prime Minister added that this year’s theme “DigitALL: innovation and technology for gender equality” is timely as it calls for women to embrace the benefits of technology in order to advance socially and economically…..
