Four coaches have been shortlisted for the Flying Fijians coaching job.
FBC reports one of the four is former Fijiana Drua Super W winning coach Senirusi Seruvakula.
Fiji Rugby Union Acting chief executive Tevita Tuiloa said some local coaches are also in the mix.
Tuiloa also says the FRU would love to have Crusaders mentor Scott Robertson as head coach or technical advisor for the Flying Fijians in this year’s Rugby World Cup.
The vacancy has arisen after Vern Cotter decided to quit earlier this month.
Drua ready for new season after second win
Fijian Drua defeated the Western Force in their second pre-season hit-out as they prepare for their second Super Rugby Pacific season.
Mick Byrne’s side overcame the Perth-based Force 48-38 at Brisbane’s Wests Rugby Club on Thursday night.
Byrne said he was pleased to see some patience as they held the ball and used their maul to score four consecutive first-half tries.
In their first pre-season match, the Drua crushed the Melbourne Rebels 24-0 last weekend.
New faces in 7s squad
Fijian Sevens coach Ben Gollings has included four debutantes in his 13-member squad for the Los Angeles and Vancouver tournaments.
Army duo, Anasa Qaranivalu and Rokoua Rasaku, Police forward Alusio Vakadranu and Uluinakau utility Ponipate Loganimasi have booked their place to Los Angeles 7s which takes place on Febrary 25-26.
Gollings said the team needed a bit of a shake-up and new energy.
He says the quartet bring different dynamics to the team and he believes this is an ideal opportunity for them to shine on the world stage.
Tevita Daugunu has been named the captain for the two tournaments.
