The Moana Blue Pacific Pavilion at COP28 in Dubai is the home away from home for the Pacific during the worlds largest climate change conference. Representing Pasifika TV, Mareva Cameron spoke to SPREP’s Communications and Outreach Adviser, Nanette Woonton, about the role of the Pavilion at COP28.
Woonton said that the goal of the Pavilion is to “amplify our Pacific voices to tell our stories, showcase our challenges … and needs from COP28”. The Pavilion will host a range of events to support the Pacific and make sure they’re visible, “because if we’re not visible and we’re not seen here, it’s harder to be heard in negotiations,” says Woonton.
